CMA CGM applies US$200 per TEU 'congestion' charge in Aden war zone

FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM has applied a US$200 per TEU congestion
surcharge the Port of Aden from April 13 in face of an increasingly
volatile military situation there.

While Saudi-backed Hadi forces, known as the government despite the
fact they have been driven from the capital Sana'a, still hold the
port city, but Iranian-backed Houthi forces, known as rebels, despite
the fact that they hold the capital, have been pressing in, though
staved off by Saudi air strikes both in Aden and in other parts of the
country.
